Protecting Children. Preventing Suffering.

We are launching a life-saving Typhoid Vaccination
Project in rural Uganda – October 2025

Typhoid is a Silent Killer.

In 2017 alone, over 56,000 cases of typhoid were reported in Uganda. The actual number is likely far higher. Children under 15 are especially at risk. Contaminated water, lack of sanitation, and poor access to treatment make typhoid one of the deadliest – yet most preventable – diseases in the region.

Left untreated, typhoid can cause intestinal bleeding, septic shock, or even death. Drug-resistant strains are rising.

Quick Facts

  • 🧒 70% of untreated cases occur in children under 15.

  • 💊 20% of typhoid strains in Uganda are drug-resistant.

  • 🕯️ While only 657 deaths were recorded in Uganda in 2017, calculations by the WHO estimate up to 7.000 typhoid related deaths per year.

Simple Vaccine.
Lifelong Impact.

In October 2025, WeDevWater will launch a pilot vaccination campaign across schools and rural communities in Uganda. Our mission: to vaccinate hundreds of children aged 2 months to 15 years with the WHO-recommended Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) – the most effective and long-lasting protection available.

Why this age group? Because they are most vulnerable – and least likely to be reached again for booster shots. This is our window to protect them for life.

Driven by Care.
Guided by Science.

WeDev Water e.V. is a grassroots NGO founded in 2018. Our team combines the knowledge of engineers, doctors, and filmmakers – united by a simple idea: Clean water and basic health should not be a privilege.

This project was designed and developed in close cooperation with our Ugandan partners, local schools, and health workers. We focus on sustainable, low-cost solutions and community empowerment.

This October, we want to set things in motion.

Our goal:

To vaccinate 1,000 people – children, students, teachers, and other high-risk individuals – in some of Uganda’s most underserved communities.

Every single dose we deliver is a step toward safety, education, and dignity. Every vaccinated child is one less risk, one more future.

🧰 What We Still Need

To make this mission a reality, we need more than just commitment – we need equipment. Alongside financial support for travel, logistics, and field expenses, we urgently need:

  • Sterile, individually packed needles and syringes

  • Alcohol swabs and skin disinfectants

  • Adhesive bandages and cotton gauze

  • Sharps disposal containers and basic PPE

  • And of course: The Typhoid Conjugate Vaccines themselves

Every item on this list helps us protect lives – safely, hygienically, and professionally. Every box donated, every euro contributed, brings us closer to reaching the most vulnerable.
